A Weekend at the Four Seasons, One Dalton in Boston

In the season, and the height, of regional travel, experiencing luxury is a key differentiator from a simple “staycation” and truly a local escape. One of Boston’s premier hotels is the Four Seasons, One Dalton, which opened in 2019. You may be thinking, didn’t Boston already have a Four Seasons?! You would be right… but this new iteration of the brand in the city is a true elevation (literally and figuratively) of the brand in Beantown.

I was fortunate enough to be able to stay in the Back Bay Corner Suite, which boasts beautiful views from every room, and a bath tub that you actually want to get into. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotel rooms with a lot of baths, and this one takes the cake; it’s comfortable, paired with views of the Christian Science Center, and big enough for two ;).

There are a few primary dining options. The first is Zuma, which this white staircase above leads to. The restaurant is technically separate from the hotel, but it’s a nice option for a work lunch, or dinner. Breakfast can be ordered on a tablet in your room to be delivered at your desired time. The lemon ricotta pancakes are the perfect indulgence for a lazy morning, but if you’re looking for something more nutritiously robust, they have a build-your-own avocado toast.

My favorite dining experience at One Dalton, though, would have to be Afternoon Tea at Trifecta. Not only is this perfect practice for my move across the pond, it’s one of the few elevated high teas in the city that I would recommend having been spoiled in England on a few occasions. Frankly, there isn’t a definitive list ranking high teas in Boston because it isn’t super popular. But, like with anything the Four Seasons does, it is refined, thoughtful, and well presented. This makes for a great afternoon with a gal pal or your mother-in-law. I do wish the tea list was a bit more extensive, but I’m usually drinking more of the champagne anyway.

With such a comprehensive offering, this is an ideal spot to stay if you’re visiting Boston from near or afar. Elevated service, amenities, and dining all within the confines of this single hotel makes One Dalton a bit of a one stop shop for a staycation, or a great home base if you’re visiting from away for work or pleasure.
